Rated 5 out of 5 by from This cushion saved my butt... I have to sit for long periods of time due to my current occupation. Even with a padded seat, my butt was going numb and I was getting really uncomfortable after just short periods of time. This cushion has saved me! I can do what I need to do for longer periods of time without getting uncomfortable. I will note that it smells pretty funky (very strongly like...chemicals?) - washed it multiple times as per instructions (so the odor is an on-going issue) when I first got it, and washed the cushion cover. It's been a few months and it's slowly dissipating, but I can definitely still smell it. Also, if you put it on any kind of leather or faux-leather, the cushion cover will leave black marks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed to mushy I have the double seat cushion and back support. When you sit on the seat cushion the mushy gel cushion moves you forward. It isn't holding you up. Your weight moves with the cushion forward. I feel like I'm literally forcing myself to stay in place on it. Not firmness to hold you upright. I have more pain now than without out. The back cushion just does nothing for firmness and holding your posture up either. Just absolutely no comfort at all whatsoever. I was really looking forward to these products working for me especially at this price. I can't send them back because the boxes have been tossed. That's how much faith I had in this product.

I really enjoy the Purple cushion and how it has improved my comfort level during the workday now that I spend all day at my computer. The only reason I dropped it down a star is because it's quite large and doesn't fit that well in my desk chair. I considered my options when so purchased to order one that is smaller in size but almost all of them are similar in size except a small difference. And to get one that fit my chair, I would have to drop down to one that doesn't have the same extended comfort expectation. Luckily it still "fits" with some overhang - I just have to regularly adjust it to keep it in the right place. Great buy though!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good. effective. does need some adjustment from time to time The overall efficacy of this product is great. My butt doesn't hurt anymore from long sessions in office chair. The issue becomes its need to be adjusted often enough. It comes well designed with a non slip coating on the bottom of the pad. The pitfall is that the pad slip is so flexible that overtime is contorts itself and needs adjustment in the slip and on the seat of whatever chair you're using. I'd like to see a combo product that can attach to lumbar support pad (like they turn into one thing. Perhaps a little more structure. IF for whatever reason I lose or damage this, I may not buy again and look around for what else is out there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's an OK cushion. Thee stars might be a little harsh, it's a fine seat cushion and is markedly better than sitting on my chairs normal cushion. You also eventually get past the grid-like sensation when you sit down and all the quirks that come with that. So maybe it's a 4-star cushion in that sense. But the reason I knocked it to a 3 is because there are no ties or anything to keep the cushion on the seat. Every 30-40 minutes the cushion has slid off the seat and under my thighs- leaving a huge gap between the cushion and the seat back. It's really uncomfortable and annoying. Honestly kind of mind blowing a product this expensive skimps on fabric for a tie strap.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sure if it's the chair I'm using or the cushion itself Upon first try, the cushion feels comfortable to sit on. However, when I used it on my chair at work (the reason why I bought it), that was not the case at all. I think it may have been the fact that the seat itself was already contoured so it didn't allow the cushion to lay flat. It caused me to have weird pelvic pains. I tried in on a different chair, but no luck because I then had ZERO lumbar support. I think I need to use this cushion on a flat chair to be able to enjoy it. Until then, it sits on an ottoman in my home office. I would have returned the item by now, but I believe I took too long to do so. It's past the return policy timeframe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for uncomfortable active seating stools I was skeptical and convinced that Purple as a seat cushion would be a gimmick. I had already tried three expensive memory foam type cushions. Read any review and they all agree that the modern 'active seating' stools (usually accompany sit-stand desks) are very uncomfortable for any prolonged seating (which is kinda what they discourage anyways). However, the Purple Double lived up to the hype. I can sit for a few hours without discomfort on my expensive, ergonomic desk stool. The cushion stays very cool. And the huge bonus is that since 'stools' tend to have much smaller seat pans than regular desk chairs, the Purple can be cut to size!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SMELLS SO BAD The smell from my cushion was so bad (chemical + rubber/plastic odor) it gave me a migraine. When I contacted Purple privately about it, they told me to wash it with soap. I did that multiple times and it did nothing to alleviate the odor. I then sprinkled it with baking soda and let it sit for a week which helped a little; vacuumed off baking soda and still had to put essential oil on it to be able to stomach using it without getting nauseous from the stench. I'm a little appalled that Purple's solution to this problem was for me to just wash it, and I'm wondering what could be causing this awful smell - should I be scared for my safety?
