Homemakers’ Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes
Believe it or not, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Whatever your Turkey Day traditions are, there’s a lot to be thankful for. But let’s be honest, one of the best parts of Thanksgiving is digging into all kinds of delicious food. We asked the Homemakers advertising team to send in their favorite Thanksgiving recipes to share. Read on to learn how to make these delicious dishes yourself!
Cranberry Brie Bites
If you’re looking for the perfect appetizer to get your Thanksgiving feast started, look no further. These cranberry brie bites are super simple to make and will have your group craving more. It’s also a great way to use a common staple of Thanksgiving side dishes, cranberry sauce, in a new and exciting way. Just be sure not to accidentally eat them all yourself before serving!
What You’ll Need:
- All-purpose flour
- One 8 oz. tube crescent dough
- One 8 oz. wheel of brie cheese
- One cup whole berry (not jellied) cranberry sauce
- Fresh rosemary sprigs
How to Make:
- Preheat oven to 375°f
- Spray a mini muffin tin with cooking spray
- Spread a little flour out on your counter, then roll out the crescent dough and pinch seams together. Cut the crescent roll dough into 24 equal-sized squares and place them into muffin tin slots.
- Cut brie into small pieces and place inside the squares. Top with a generous spoonful of cranberry sauce and add little sprig of rosemary
- Bake until crescent dough is a light golden brown (About 15 mins.)
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Drunken Carrots
Vegetables are an important part of any meal, and including them in your Thanksgiving side dishes is a necessity. But between the delicious entrees and scrumptious desserts, nobody wants to eat any! The solution? This drunken carrots recipe!
What You’ll Need:
- Large pack of carrots
- One cup dried cherries or raisins
- One tbsp Fox Point Seasoning
- ½ stick of butter
- ¾ cup blackberry brandy
How to Make:
- Mix blackberry brandy, herb mix, and dried fruit for 48 hours
- Peel carrots and slice into quarter spears
- Grease baking dish and place carrots from side-to-side
- Lightly cover with garlic salt and pepper
- Drizzle “drunken” fruit along top line of carrots
- Cut pads of butter and place on top
- Bake at 400°f for approximately 20 minutes or until tender
- Enjoy!
Pineapple Salad
Okay, this one might not seem like a natural fit as one of your Thanksgiving side dishes, but hear us out. Having different types of salad is always a good idea for any get-together involving food. There are bound to be vegetarians or vegans present, and they make for a healthy alternative to some of the usual Thanksgiving recipes. So why go with a boring old salad when you could make this fun pineapple salad instead! It’s super easy to make, super healthy, and super tasty!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 can pineapple slices
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 eggs beaten
- Bananas
- Grapes
- Walnut pieces (small bag)
- Marshmallows
How to Make:
- Put sugar, flour, butter, eggs, and juice from pineapple can into double boiler
- Cook over medium heat until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally
- Let cool in refrigerator
- Chop and place desired amount of grapes, bananas, walnut pieces, marshmallows, and pineapple chunks in a separate bowl
- Add cooled sauce from refrigerator and mix
- Enjoy!
