How to Get a Better Nights Sleep
Sleep is such an important part of everyone’s daily routine. You may find yourself waking up, still feeling tired. Maybe you stayed up too late, or it just took you a long time to fall asleep. If you’re looking for a way to get your sleep schedule back on track, here are some helpful tips to help make that dream a reality.
Finding the right mattress
First things first - if you’re mattress is reaching the end of its life, it might be time for an upgrade. Mattresses don’t have to be expensive to be comfortable! Figure out what you want from your mattress, then start the hunt. If you’re not sure, test out some options. From firm to plush, the mattress of your dreams is out there. Make a sleep schedule
Whether or not you need a new mattress, creating a sleep schedule and sticking to it is a great way to ensure you’ll wake up feeling rested. It can be tempting to stay up late watching your favorite TV show, working on a new hobby, or hanging out with friends. Making a sleep schedule that works for you, and sticking to it, is the best way to make sure you’re giving yourself enough time to catch up on sleep. Turning on 'Do Not Disturb' on your phone, or even setting an alarm to remind yourself to follow your schedule are great tools to help you got all the sleep you need.
Limit screen time before bed
While your phone can be a great tool to help you stick to your schedule, it can also be a huge distraction, and the bright screen can make it hard to fall asleep. As bedtime approaches, getting away from blue light screens can mess with your sleep-wake cycle, making it harder to get the sleep you need. Instead of scrolling your phone for a while before bed, try reading, listening to a podcast, or another calming activity that gives your eyes a break from technology.
Get a supportive pillow
Whether you sleep on your side or back, it’s important to find a pillow that supports you. That extra layer of comfort could be just what you need to help lull you into that sleep you always dreamed of. Like mattresses, pillows have different height and firmness levels. The feel of pillows will also differ based on brand and what they’re made of. Purple pillows have a unique grid design, providing cooling comfort, while other pillows may be made of memory foam or provide neck support. The Tempur-Pedic Breeze Neck Cooling Pillow is a great option.

Finally, listen to your body
Sometimes, eight hours of sleep may be difficult to fit into your schedule. However, having a good night’s sleep is important for ensuring your day goes well. Adequate sleep is necessary for your physical and mental health. If your body tells you it wants to go to bed early, listen. Sometimes it’s okay to sleep in a little, and other times, it’s okay to stay in for the weekend and catch up on that much-needed sleep.
Even if you do some of these tips already, adding more of them to your routine, and upgrading your sleep setup can increase the likelihood that you will get the best night’s sleep possible. There’s nothing better than starting off your morning refreshed and feeling energized as you go about your day. Making sure you’re going to bed on time, sleeping in a comfortable and supportive bed, and being aware of your screen time for a couple hours before you intend to sleep are some easy ways to make every night- and day, a little better.
