Homemakers.com: What are the hair trends for spring/summer 2008?
Ini Okopedeghe: This season continues the return of the "blinding" bangs (a lash-grazing fringe) in a big way. Whether it's Heidi Klum who donned the look in Season 4 of Project Runway to our ever-favourite style icon herself Kate Moss wearing the look -- it's definitely back. Bangs can be worn with short hair as Katie Holmes revealed to the world with her short bob, or worn with long hair. The look is fresh, echoing the 60s and 80s sensibility we're seeing in fashion.
If you prefer a shorter, maintenance-free look, you're in luck! Short hair is back this season. Whether it's an asymmetrical crop or a frontal-length bob similar to that worn by Victoria Beckham, this look allows you to express your personal style. Remember, this season is all about individuality and customization so don't be afraid to add a bit of your personality into your cut.
HM.com: What's this year's trend in hair colour?
IO: One of the biggest trends continues to be experimenting with colour and the hot colour continues to be blonde... from warm shades to those edging closer to platinum status.
HM.com: What kinds of new accessories are we seeing this season for women?
IO: This season we continue to see the popularity of headbands, ponytail holders, bobbie slides and barrettes.
HM.com: What advice do you have when it comes to wearing hair accessories?
IO: Don't be intimidated to try different hair accessories. Remember: adorning your hair with accessories allows you to accessorize an outfit and express your personal style at the same time.
Reasons to love hair accessories
