But with so many options to choose from, where do you start? Joe Mimran, creative director at Joe Fresh Style reveals what's hot this spring.
Characteristics to look for in spring dresses
According to Mimran, the best Spring 2008 dresses boast:
-bold colours
-prints
-patterns and;
-florals.
Choose colour and class
They're bright and eye-catching. "This year's styles are more grown-up," says Mimran, indicating that there's a shift away from the youthful playfulness of last season's styles. "They're more sophisticated and polished." Translation: Gone are last year's babydoll dresses.
This season, trim and tailored looks dominate dresses in the forms of shirtdresses, sack dresses and caftan dresses. Abstract flowers and geometric patterns are hot this year, too, he says. Which colours, in particular? "All colours under the rainbow," says Mimran.
Find the right fits for your frame
But how do you find the right fit for your shape? Mimran helps to identify some of the best looks to suit your body type. Shirtdresses, he says, are perfect for accentuating your waist whereas the season's popular sack dress is forgiving around the mid-section. Long, flowy caftan dresses are perfect for hot days when you want the perfect blend of comfort and style.
