Finally there's something that makes life insurance fun. Northwestern Mutual, a U.S.-based life insurance company offers a fun online game that calculates your life expectancy based on 12 variables. It factors in family history, diet, exercise routine, and even seat belt usage.
According to this tool, if I smoke, lead a sedentary lifestyle, eat junk food and follow other poor habits, I can expect to live to be 37. But, using the same figures in age, height, and weight, if I follow healthy habits like eating my veggies, staying smoke-free and buckling up, I could live to see my 100th birthday.
Not only does this tool provide a wake-up call for those engaging in life-threatening behaviours, it also helps to identify areas of your lifestyle you can improve now.
