The Arthritis Society: Joints in Motion

Become a member of Joints in Motion, the Arthritis Foundation's (AF) athletic training program, and raise funds and awareness to fight arthritis, the nation's Number 1 cause of disability. The AF will train you to run or walk a marathon, or hike a challenging trail. Participants benefit by getting fit and healthy, and they can take pride in helping others by improving the quality of life for the millions who live with arthritis.

Check out this site for more information about the coached training program (suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels). During this 20-week session. you will increase endurance and improve walking and running strategy. In addition, you will have the opportunity to attend clinics to learn more about important subjects such as proper footwear, nutrition and the importance of stretching.

If running just isn’t your thing, let the fund-raising travel incentive motivate you to start moving in other ways.
