Does the Canadian government owe you cash? Getting money back from them has never been so easy. Environment Canada has an easy-to-navigate website dedicated to their Incentives and Rebates program. This program was established to encourage Canadians to use less energy by switching to renewable energy sources and to encourage everyone to adopt environment-friendly habits.
The site lists 13 government-subsidized programs related to homes and cars. You'll find eco-friendly products and services, categorized by province and program, such as home renovation and vehicle fuel purchase. For example, one of the rebates in the Home Renovation program is called the Enersource Conservation Water Heater Tune-Up. Enersource customers in Mississauga, Ont. can schedule a free water heater tune-up and Enersource will provide and install a water heater blanket, an energy efficient showerhead, and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
