Contact the Canadian Cancer Society for support and information
In addition to providing breast health information and funding important breast cancer research, the Canadian Cancer Society also supports women living with breast cancer, their families and friends. Whether you choose to speak to us over the phone, visit us in person or go online, the Canadian Cancer Society is here to help.

Reach to Recovery volunteers are breast cancer survivors who offer one-to-one support to women immediately after a breast cancer diagnosis, before surgery, in the hospital or any time during treatment. In person or over the telephone, they offer encouragement, compassion and helpful information.

CancerConnection is a telephone support service that connects callers with trained volunteers who have had similar cancer experiences, either personally or as caregivers. Trained volunteers offer the unique support that only someone who has had a similar cancer experience can provide.

Community Services Directory is a comprehensive online database through our Web site that lists cancer-related services in your community. At www.cancer.ca you will find up-to-date information on services that you can turn to for help, including cancer screening, nutritional services and where to find a prothesis or wig.

Cancer Information Service is the Society's bilingual telephone service where our information specialists can answer questions about breast cancer-related issues. They can also direct callers to support services in their communities. During October, a free breast cancer information kit is also available. Call toll-free, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.

For more information on these and other helpful Canadian Cancer Society support services, contact a cancer information specialist at 1 888 939-3333.
