Our exclusive fusion fitness program combines the most current and effective exercises, including tai chi, Pilates and yoga.
Part 2: In the second instalment of our exclusive fusion fitness plan, there are three new exercises to add to your arsenal of arm, ab and leg strengtheners. Meredith Coke of the YMCA leads you through poses that challenge your core muscles and tone up your limbs. So put on some tunes that inspire you, grab your gear and get going. For best results, try doing the exercises in parts 1 and 2 of our shape-up three times a week.
What you'll need: -stability ball -tension band -comfortable clothing -proper footwear
Fitness facts NIA, or Neuromuscular Integrative Action, is an exercise concept designed to give both your body and mind a workout with moves that blend Eastern and Western concepts, including martial arts and yoga. Participants use various movements to stretch, tone and explore their bodies while dancing to the rhythm of music.
Mind-body exercises, such as the ones in this fusion fitness program, release endorphins in your body that make you feel great.
Working out in the morning has the added benefit of jump-starting your metabolism for the whole day. If you exercise early in the day, you're likely to see more results, which leads to an increased commitment to fitness.
