This pear smoothie is delicious. Buttermilk is low-fat (generally 1%) and nutritious, and so is keffir, a Russian-style fermented milk product (available at large grocery and health food stores).

Ingredients

1 large ripe pear, peeled, cored and chopped |
|
|
|
1 cup (250 mL) buttermilk or keffir |
|
|
|
1 tbsp (15 mL) Toasted Wheat Germ (see below) |
|
|
|
2 tsp (10 mL) liquid honey |
|
|
|
|

Preparation
|

Blend together pear, buttermilk or keffir, wheat germ and honey.
Makes 1 serving.
